Following our dancers’ recent success at the International Samba Festival Coburg, the London School of Samba Rainha da Bateria (Queen of the Drums) Yazzmin Newell won the Carnival Queen Competition held on Friday 19th July as part of “Brazilica” Liverpool’s International Samba Carnival. A panel of four judges chose Yazzmin as the best dancer, beating competition from dancers of Paraiso School of Samba, Liverpool School of Samba, and Copenhagen Carioca Samba School.
