The London School of Samba will partake in this year’s Chinese New Year celebrations in Hong Kong along with a whole host of international performers. The carnival will run for around three weeks, culminating in a Night Parade with the beautiful Victoria Harbour as its backdrop, which will feature thirteen magnificently decorated floats as well as dancers and performers from the USA, China, Japan, Korea, Peru, Taiwan, and the Czech Republic. Although The LSS has performed across Europe, this is the first time the group will have performed in Asia.
Louise Forster, Development Manager of the London School of Samba says ‘This is an incredible opportunity to showcase our samba school during the Chinese New Year celebrations, as this is the first time we as a group have travelled and performed in Asia. We are extremely excited about being part of this event and making new friends in Hong Kong. We feel honoured that we have been invited.’
The celebrations are from 28 Jan right through to the 17 February. For more information on the festival, visit http://www.discoverhongkong.com/chinesenewyear/eng/suggested.jsp
