LSS Samba de Enredo Competition for 2018

The London School of Samba annual Samba de Enredo Competition is due to take Wednesday 18 April, 7:30pm at Bar Floripa, 91 -91 Great Eastern Street EC2A 3HZ. FREE ENTRY! You will want to get there early as this year sees a hefty seven entries!

This competition is one of a kind in the UK, as we invite talented musicians to compose sambas, and the winning one, chosen on the night by a panel of judges together with LSS members, will be performed by the School at Notting Hill Carnival and throughout the whole year!

We are only one of a few European Samba Schools to hold a competition of this nature and we’re proud to see a high number of entries for this year. All songs are going to be performed on the night accompanied by a live bateria, giving you a proper taste of this year’s carnival! And our theme for this carnival is “For the beauties of the sea: Yemanja guide us.”

So don’t miss out! And if you are a member of the School your vote will count!

You can listen to the entries on our Soundcloud and check out the lyrics.

Best of luck to all of the folks who have entered! Boa sorte!

The copyright of the song will belong to the London School of Samba. Royalties from any potential sale of the song will be reinvested into the school as a charitable organisation to further promote and encourage more people to participate in the schools activities and promote samba, Brazilian culture and British community spirit. The song writers will be credited for their songwriting entry.
