Each year the London School of Samba holds a competition to choose it’s Samba De Enredo (the theme song for it’s carnival season). This year’s competition held at Floripa on Thursday 8th May was a particularly fierce competition. A panel of judges (Fabio De Oliviera, Sam Alexander, Tristan Daws and Mariana Whitehouse) as well as LSS Members voted for their favourite entry. With this year being our 30th Anniversary Year, the Samba De Enredo has to reflect this. There were four songs – “Trinta Anos” by Gregory Cowan and Emma Lyons, “Unidos de Londres (Meu Coracao)” by Christopher Mullins-Silverstein and Alex Talbot, “It’s my life, It’s my Samba” by Estoban Zorro, and “Aplausos” by Xavier Osmir & Paul Rumbol.

This year’s winning Samba De Enredo is:
“Aplausos” by Xavier Osmir & Paul Rumbol

Congratulations Xavier & Paul, and a big thank you to everyone who entered a samba this year, you were all fantastic.
