Rainhas da Bateria
The Rainha da Bateria (Queen of the Drums) is the muse that dances in front of, and interacts with the drum section (Bateria). These charismatic dancers welcome and represent the drummers with their moves. It is a position of honour to be chosen as Rainha da Bateria. The London School of Samba holds a competition in the summer each year to see who will be their queen of the drums for that year.
